Baseline
What it does
Defines a clear threshold for when a web feature is safe to use: “Baseline Newly Available” means it has shipped in all major browsers within the last 30 months; “Baseline Widely Available” means it has been available for over 30 months. Removes guesswork from the “can I use this?” question.
Who is it for
Web developers who want a simple signal for feature readiness without having to interpret raw compat tables. Also useful for educators, bloggers, and documentation authors characterising feature maturity.
Where to find it
https://web-platform-dx.github.io/web-features/ for more information. Baseline status is surfaced on MDN, web.dev, and CanIUse and more.
Who is maintaining it
Originally driven by Google Chrome, now defined collaboratively through the WebDX Community Group with input from Mozilla, Apple, and Microsoft.
